Blind Dates - the 1985 Edition |

| Blind Dates goes two-tone! From left: drummer Tony James, guitarist Josh Deutsch, bassist Lonnie Hillyer and frontman Sean. Upon Deutsch's and my Brown graduation, we abandoned Providence and headed to NYC in search of a record deal. In the process, we unceremoniously dumped Brown bassist Dave Ward in favor of funkster Lonni e Hillyer, John Coltrane's nephew. As the new-wave era concluded, Deutsch's writing morphed to pop/r&b à la Hall & Oates, paving the way for the heartless canning of our rocker pal, drummer Jason Spingarn, in favor of groovemeister drummer Tony James. Business and friendship frequently don't mix, I discovered sadly; nor is camaraderie essential to creativity. (1985) | ||
